Plays a Google Photos album as a fullscreen slideshow in true random order, the one thing Google Photos won't do. Its own slideshow is always chronological.
for Google Photos
Plays the album you have open in a Google Photos tab. No setup.
A working replica of the popup and a demo of the shuffle, using numbered placeholders instead of anyone's photos. Each tile shows once before any repeats.
Two modes
In 2025 Google removed the API that let apps list and read your existing library. That leaves two routes: read the album you have open, or use Google's official picker and choose photos by hand. The extension does both, with a switch at the top of the popup.
Reads the album open in your Google Photos tab, scrolling it in the background to collect every photo, then shuffles and plays. No setup, works with shared albums, and starts on the first photo while it keeps reading. Personal use only, since it reads Google's page directly.
Uses Google's official Photos Picker API with sign-in. You choose the photos or an album, and the slideshow starts on its own. Needs a one-time OAuth setup, and it's the route that could go to the Chrome Web Store.
Features
A FisherโYates "bag": no repeats until every photo has been shown, then a fresh shuffle.
Smooth fades or instant cuts. Change speed live; loop forever or stop after one pass.
No server, no analytics. Photos load straight from Google into the tab.
